Dear Watertown Public Schools Faculty and Families,

It is with great excitement to share that the BOE Capital Improvement requests on the referendum ballot passed late last night, as did the request for a town fire truck and town road repairs. I am thankful to all of our faculty and staff, the entire WPS community, and all of the town volunteers for rallying together and coming out to support our schools. We could not have achieved such an overwhelming and positive result without all of you. There was a consistent flow of public turnout at all of the polling sites throughout the entire day.

Based on the results of yesterday’s referendum, the town of Watertown has appropriated $12,861,000 to be financed through the issue of bonds or notes and temporary notes for various school capital improvements. For example:

  • WHS & JTPS roof projects

  • WHS & Swift turf/field and track replacement

  • HVAC work and boiler replacement

Click each link to read more about the HVAC grant, reimbursement timelines, and each project.

In addition, two additional town projects also passed:

  • A new fire truck for the WFD

  • New roads and repairs for the community.

As we move to the next step in our process to begin getting projects underway, I will continue to provide updates to the WPS community.

Three cheers to you all!  Sincerely,

Dr. V
