Dear Watertown Public Schools Faculty, Families and Students,
It is with great happiness to share that the Town of Watertown and Board of Education FY 25 Budget passed at referendum yesterday. With a steady flow of voter turnout at all polling locations, each station passed with 'Yes' votes for both the Town and BOE budgets as presented on the ballot.
As it stands, the passed FY 25 budget is $55,305,902 or a 2.94% increase from last year's budget. If you are interested in reviewing budget documents you can always visit our website.
I would like to thank the Board of Education, our amazing PTO groups, our faculty/staff, and extended community members for getting the message out and rallying Watertown residents to exercise their right to cast a vote! The budget passed because our voters came out to cast a vote. THANK YOU.
As we move closer to the end of this academic year and begin to set sights on the start of next year, our FY 25 Budget will be the vehicle that supports our continuous work across the district in all disciplines and departments one step at a time. If you are interested in learning more about our Board of Education Goals, please click here to view the Superintendent's annual address from November of this year that outlines district Board and Operational goals.
As we take steps together, I am confident that we continue to progress forward in the same direction towards the same goals and that is what makes us a strong and resilient district.
I wish you all a magnificent Wednesday!
Dr. V
