On Tuesday, June 16th, the Watertown Board of Education approved Gino Faiella as the next Facilities Manager. Mr. Faiella has 24 years of experience in facilities management. He is currently the Operations Site Manager for IST Management Services, Inc. in Greenwich. Prior to this role, Mr. Faiella served as the Director of Facility Operations for Newtown Public Schools for 12 years. In that role, he directed a maintenance and facility staff of 58 covering seven schools and two auxiliary sites totaling approximately one million square feet.
Mr. Faiella was one of 18 applicants for the position. “Throughout each round of interviews, Mr. Faiella demonstrated a deep understanding of facilities management, a strong work ethic and tremendous problem-solving skills. I am excited about him joining our team and look forward to bringing him onboard to support the work of our custodial and maintenance staff,” said Dr. Harrison, Superintendent of Schools.
The Board of Education was impressed with Mr. Faiella’s professional experience. “Our community has invested a great amount of time and resources into our schools. We are proud of our facilities and are excited to have someone with Mr. Faiella’s background in this role,” said Mr. Tom Lambert, Board of Education Vice-Chair and Chair of the Facilities/PBC/Operations Committee.
Mr. Faiella will begin in his new role on July 13, 2020. He fills a position left empty upon the passing of Ray Cenicola, who dedicated many years to Watertown Public Schools before his death this past April.
