This week we welcomed back Swift sixth graders. It was energizing to peek into classrooms and see friends, classmates and teachers united again! Health and Safety
Beginning March 1, PreK-12 educators will be eligible to receive the Covid-19 Vaccine. Click here to learn more about the Covid-19 Vaccine. Torrington Health, our local health district is working closely with school districts in our area to roll out vaccines throughout the month of March.

Board of Education Update
On Monday, February 22 at a regularly scheduled meeting, the Watertown Board of Education unanimously approved the 2021-2022 Proposed Superintendent's Budget.
I will present the 2021-2022 BOE Recommended Budget to the Town Council on March 16, 2021 at 7PM. And, as is customary, I will present the 2021-2022 BOE Recommended budget to PTOs. Link to the 2021-2022 BOE Recommended Budget Presentation

Black History Month
“This year marks the 95th anniversary of Black History Month, first proposed by Harvard-trained historian Carter G. Woodson and later expanded to a month in 1976 by President Gerald R. Ford. The annual celebration recognizes the role of Black Americans in U.S. history. Woodson believed that the Black experience was too important to be left to an occasional chapter in academic studies. As a result, each February, Black History Month is observed with special events, speakers, promotions and community initiatives”.
As we move into March, I challenge each of us to not only think of Black History during the month of February but to think about our country’s history with Black and African American people throughout the entire year and their incredible contributions to our community and the world.
