NEW WATERTOWN PUBLIC SCHOOLS BUSINESS MANAGER ANNOUNCED

At a special Board of Education Meeting, Ms. Marie Kashuba was appointed the new Business Manager for Watertown Public Schools. Ms. Kashuba set herself apart from other candidates with her passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the role. She brings with her a proven record of success in building a strong rapport with varying stakeholders involved in the financial aspects of a school district. Her background experiences and proactive approach to effective communication and high level of professionalism was most notable by her previous employers. Dr. Villanueva, Superintendent of Schools shared, “Ms. Kashuba demonstrated the energy, initiative, and knowledge it takes to successfully lead and manage the many people, processes, and protocols involved in a school district’s finance department. Her attention to detail and high expectations for herself and the school district are clear and I believe her collaborative personality will benefit the Watertown Public Schools not only this year but for years to come”.
Ms. Kashuba received her Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut and her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of New Haven. Ms. Kashuba worked as a Financial Consultant overseeing the budget process in planning, accounting, and reporting in a corporate setting and has an extensive auditing background. Most recently, she assisted with interim business manager duties in the Seymour Public Schools district as a consultant of the Twin Lakes Finance Team. Ms. Kashuba comes highly recommended by the Twin Lakes group. Her experience in working with the Seymour Public Schools; her familiarity with financial systems; the ins and outs of public school finance; and her corporate background are all assets to the Watertown Public Schools.
The Board of Education is thrilled to have Ms. Kashuba as the new Business Manager for Watertown Public Schools. She stands out as a knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated individual who strongly believes that working with faculty and staff to meet the needs of students is our district’s primary responsibility.
