Dear Watertown Public Schools Faculty, Students, and Families,
This week, open house evenings finished with great spirit at JTPS. With a strong turnout of visitors at all of our schools (even on nights with heavy rainfall) it’s been great to see parents and students walk through our buildings this month.
STEAP Security Grant
It is with great enthusiasm that I share..both Watertown Public Schools and the Town of Watertown were awarded STEAP grants this week! This was a collaborative effort by the Town and school district. We submitted a joint application for the following:
· Watertown (BOE): $248,109.10 in state funding is approved for the installation of comprehensive emergency notification systems at all seven of the town’s schools (public and parochial).
· Watertown (Town): $250,000 in state funding is approved for a safety improvement project on Main Street.
If you would like to read the Governor’s press release, which includes a full list of towns who won an award, please click here! A big thank you to Mr. Raimo, Mr. Velardi and Mr. Dalton for taking continued steps to help secure our district.
First View App Now Open
The First View Bus App is now available for all families. A personalized letter was sent directly to all families this week with School Codes. Please check your email for this letter. You will need those codes to set up your First View App.
If there are any changes to bus stops, updates will appear on Friday. Weekly updates take place every Thursday evening for the Watertown Public Schools.

Rosh Hashanah
Rosh Hashanah begins this weekend! Rosh Hashanah is the start of the New Year for Jewish families. Special family celebrations that include festive meals with Challah (bread) and other sweet treats are a part of this tradition. Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, it’s also a time for deep reflection. Rosh Hashanah begins Sunday night until Tuesday evening. We wish all of our families celebrating this special holiday a wonderful new year! Shana Tova U'metuka—To a good and sweet year!
Have a great weekend, Watertown!
