On Monday, November 14, 2022 at a regular meeting, the Watertown Board of Education expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Brandi Sawyer-Emmans, Eastern Band Cherokee descent for a generous donation of $10,000.00 to Watertown Public Schools through IAIS. The donation made it possible for all students in grades three (3) through six (6) to attend field experiences at the Institute for American Indian Studies Museum in Washington, CT, from October to December 2022.    Through real-life experiential workshops, IAIS offers students interactive learning experiences about Native American Culture & History.   Ms. Darlene Kascak, Director of Education of IAIS, Schaghticoke Tribal Nation, worked carefully to plan and bring these informative outreach programs to Watertown Public Schools.  The Institute for American Indian Studies Museum strives to educate everyone who walks through the doors by providing engaging exhibits, interactive and informative programs, and a space for reflection and learning.
